Les phrasal verbs (verbes à particule) sont l’un des aspects les plus typiques et les plus riches de l’anglais. Au niveau B1, nous classons ces verbes par thèmes pour faciliter leur mémorisation et leur utilisation correcte.
1. Phrasal Verbs de Mouvement et Lieu
- Go on : Continuer.
- Please go on reading.
- Get in / out : Entrer / Sortir (voiture, taxi).
- He got in the car and drove away.
- Get on / off : Monter / Descendre (bus, train, avion).
- Come back : Revenir.
2. Phrasal Verbs de Routine et Social
- Wake up / Get up : Se réveiller / Se lever.
- Go out : Sortir (pour s’amuser).
- Do you want to go out tonight?
- Look for : Chercher.
- Find out : Découvrir / Apprendre une information.
- I need to find out what time the train leaves.
3. Phrasal Verbs de Travail et Étude
- Set up : Installer / Organiser.
- We set up a new office.
- Give up : Abandonner.
- Look up : Chercher une information (dans un dictionnaire, sur Google).
- Put off : Reporter / Remettre à plus tard.
- Don’t put off your homework!
💡 Conseil : Apprendre par “blocs”
N’apprenez pas la particule seule. Apprenez le verbe entier comme un mot nouveau. Par exemple, considérez que Find out est un seul verbe signifiant “découvrir”.
