Les Question Tags sont des petites questions qu’on ajoute à la fin d’une phrase pour demander confirmation ou vérifier une information.
1. La règle d’or (L’équilibre)
C’est comme une balance :
- Phrase affirmative -> Tag négatif.
- Phrase négative -> Tag affirmatif.
2. Comment construire le tag ?
On utilise l’auxiliaire de la phrase (be, do, have, can, will…) et le pronom sujet.
- You are French, aren’t you?
- She doesn’t like coffee, does she?
- They have finished, haven’t they?
- Tom can swim, can’t he?
3. Cas particuliers
- I am -> tag : aren’t I? (I’m late, aren’t I?)
- Let’s -> tag : shall we? (Let’s go, shall we?)
- Impératif -> tag : will you / won’t you? (Close the door, will you?)
