En anglais B1, on apprend à nuancer nos prédictions en utilisant des adjectifs et des adverbes de probabilité. Cela permet d’être plus précis qu’avec un simple “will” ou “might”.
1. Probabilité forte (90%+)
- Bound to (+ verbe) : Indique que quelque chose est inévitable ou certain.
- It’s bound to rain. (C’est sûr, ça va arriver).
- Definitely : À coup sûr.
- I’ll definitely be there.
2. Probabilité probable (70-80%)
- Likely to (+ verbe) : Il est probable que.
- They are likely to win the match.
- Probably : Probablement.
- He’ll probably arrive late. (Notez la place : après will).
3. Improbabilité (20-30%)
- Unlikely to (+ verbe) : Peu probable.
- She is unlikely to come.
- Probably not : Probablement pas.
- I probably won’t finish today. (Notez la place : avant won’t).
