C’est l’un des points les plus importants du niveau B1. Le choix entre le Past Simple et le Present Perfect dépend de la manière dont vous voyez le temps : est-il “fini” ou “ouvert” ?
1. Past Simple : Le Temps Fini
On l’utilise quand l’action est terminée à un moment précis du passé. Ce moment est coupé du présent.
- Mots clés : yesterday, last week, in 2010, two hours ago, when I was a child.
- I saw him yesterday.
- We lived in Japan for two years (but we don’t live there now).
2. Present Perfect : Le Temps Ouvert
On l’utilise quand l’action a un lien avec le présent (expérience, résultat actuel) ou quand le moment n’est pas précisé.
- Mots clés : ever, never, just, already, yet, so far, recently, this morning (pas finie).
- I have seen that movie. (Dans ma vie, expérience).
- She has lived in Japan for two years (and she still lives there).
