La voix passive permet de mettre l’accent sur l’action ou sur l’objet qui subit l’action, plutôt que sur la personne qui la fait.
1. Formation
On utilise toujours le verbe BE (conjugué au temps voulu) + le Participe Passé.

2. Le complément d’agent (BY)
Si on veut préciser qui fait l’action, on utilise la préposition BY.
- This book was written by J.K. Rowling.
3. Quand l’utiliser ?
- On ne sait pas qui fait l’action. (My car was stolen.)
- La personne qui fait l’action n’est pas importante. (The bridge was opened in 1990.)
- On veut mettre en avant l’objet. (The Mona Lisa was painted by Da Vinci.)
