En anglais, on utilise Going to pour parler du futur, mais différemment de will. On l’utilise principalement pour des projets décidés à l’avance ou des prédictions basées sur des preuves.
1. La Structure
On utilise le verbe TO BE au présent + going to + base verbale.
| Sujet | Conjugaison | Exemple |
|---|---|---|
| I | I am going to | I’m going to travel. |
| You | You are going to | You’re going to win. |
| He / She / It | He is going to | She’s going to study. |
| We | We are going to | We’re going to eat. |
| They | They are going to | They’re going to play. |
2. La Forme Négative
On ajoute not après le verbe to be.
- I am not (I’m not) going to work.
- She is not (isn’t) going to come.
- They are not (aren’t) going to stay.
3. La Forme Interrogative
On inverse le sujet et le verbe to be.
- Are you going to buy a car?
- Is he going to visit us?
- What are you going to do tonight?
4. Quand utiliser GOING TO ?
- Plans et Intentions : (Quelque chose que vous avez déjà décidé de faire).
- “I’m going to visit my parents next weekend.”
- Prédictions avec preuves : (Vous voyez quelque chose qui va arriver).
- “Look at those black clouds! It’s going to rain.”
- “Watch out! You’re going to fall!”
💡 Attention aux erreurs classiques !
- Erreur : I going to work. -> Correction : I am going to work. (N’oublie pas le verbe be !).
- Erreur : She is going to visits. -> Correction : She is going to visit. (Pas de -s après going to).
